Setting Intentions

Smiley cat.

I like to make a kind of intention for the year early on, and having just gone through a very challenging time health-wise, this quote beautifully sums up the attitude I aimed to keep.  Although not 100% successful at times, it did at least help me keep perspective that ‘this too shall pass!’

“No matter what you are doing, keep the under-current of happiness, the secret river of joy, flowing beneath the sands of your various thoughts and the rocky soil of your hard trials.  Learn to be secretly happy within your heart in spite of all circumstances.”   –    Paramahansa Yogananda

The other thing that’s enormously powerful and helps keep yourself focused on the ultimate intended positive outcome rather than allow yourself to spiral further down in your vibrational frequencies, is to keep smiling!

No matter how difficult a situation is, by turning the corners of your mouth upwards you’re signaling your brain to release endorphins, the ‘feel-good’ hormones that help you through any challenge – and help promote healing!  I found this one simple little action really worked more effectively than I thought possible in not hitting ‘rock bottom’ – so keep smiling!
